Default Generation Settings

As an Administrator/Designer, you have the ability to specify default generation settings for a form, determining how these settings are displayed and accessed in the ‘Generation’ screen for users generating documents.

  1. Use this Form as Default:

    • Description: Defines a default Form for the selected Main Object.
    • Action: The default form will be pre-selected in the ‘Generation Screen’. (If the Object already has a default Form, a warning message is displayed).
    • Use Case: Establishing a default form for streamlined document generation associated with the Main Object.

  2. Asynchronous Generation:

    • Description: Enables the generation of output in asynchronous mode, beneficial for processing large forms or extensive datasets.
    • Notification: Users are notified upon completion of the asynchronous output generation.

  3. Format – Default:

    • Description: Allows the selection of a default output format for generated documents.
    • Action: Select a default format for generated output.

  4. Channel – Default:

    • Description: Allows the default channel(s) selection for the generated output.
    • Action: Select the channel(s) for the generated output.

  5. Default File Name:

    • Description: Selects the default file name from a dropdown list of available fields. The chosen field’s [Record] value is used when generating output.
    • Use Case: Providing a default file name for the generated document, derived from a specified field.

  6. Email Template:

    • Description: Selects the default email template for the generated output.
    • Action: Choose the preferred email template for use in conjunction with the generated document.

  7. Default Mail Body Subject:

    • Description: Allows the entry of a custom email subject for Email Body output format. If left blank, the subject is derived from the Default File Name.
    • Use Case: Customizing email subjects for Email Body output.

  8. Additional Documents From Files:

    • Description: Enables the option to add documents from the Files related list of the record for which the output is generated.
    • Behavior: These documents appear in the Additional Documents pane during generation, replacing any files in the Included Additional Documents object (for the record or for the Form).
    • Note: If Required Additional Documents From Files is selected, all files in the record are automatically added to the output.

  9. Permissions for Changing Default Generation Settings:

    • Options: Format – Allow Changing, Channel – Allow Changing, File Name – Allow Changing, Email Template – Allow Changing.
    • Description: Grants users the ability to modify the default generation settings.

  10. Options for Modifying Generation Page Display:

    • Options: Hide From Selection, Format – Hide, Channel – Hide, File name – Hide, Email Template – Hide, Additional Documents – Hide.
    • Description: Provides flexibility in modifying the display of generation options on the Generation Screen. For instance, hiding certain options when using the default Form.
